0 / 2,200 charsFully visible, no 'more' link

The hook has to land inside the visible part. Put the main idea in the first sentence, then the blank line, then the rest.

Private by design: your files are processed on your own device and never uploaded.

How to use

  1. 1 Paste your caption or post.
  2. 2 Tap a platform. ✓ means the whole text is visible, ✂ means it is cut with a 'more' link.
  3. 3 Read the phone mock-up: the grey part is hidden until someone taps 'more'.
  4. 4 Move your hook into the visible part, then copy the final text.

Why the first line decides everything

Every platform truncates long posts in the feed. Instagram shows about 125 characters, LinkedIn 210, Facebook 477, TikTok 100 and YouTube descriptions 150 before a 'more' link. Instagram and LinkedIn also cut at the first blank line if it comes earlier. Most people never tap 'more', so the visible part has to carry the hook, the promise and ideally the call to action.

How to write for the cut

Put the strongest sentence first and keep it under the platform's visible limit. Avoid a blank line right after the first sentence on Instagram and LinkedIn, because the cut happens there. Use the hidden part for detail, links and hashtags. This preview updates live so you can see the effect of every edit.

Questions

Is the preview pixel-exact?

It uses each platform's published character cut-offs. Exact wrapping depends on the phone, but the cut point is the same.

Does the preview post anything?

No. It only renders your text locally.

Why does Instagram cut earlier than 125 characters?

Because you have a blank line before that point. Instagram truncates at the first blank line.

Can I preview with an image?

A placeholder image is shown to match the feed layout. Your own image is not needed for the text cut-off.

Does it work for comments?

Comments use similar limits but are not truncated the same way; use the Character Counter for comments.
