CPM vs RPM

CPM (cost per mille) is what an advertiser pays for 1,000 ad impressions. RPM (revenue per mille) is what a creator or publisher earns per 1,000 total views or page views after the platform's share and after views that showed no ad. On YouTube, RPM is usually 40 to 60 percent of CPM because YouTube keeps 45 percent and not every view is monetised.

Typical CPM ranges

YouTube: 2 to 50 dollars depending on niche and country (finance highest, entertainment lowest). Meta ads: 5 to 15 dollars. TikTok ads: 3 to 10 dollars. Display ads on websites: 1 to 5 dollars. Sponsorship CPM for creators (what brands pay per 1,000 views for an integration): 20 to 50 dollars.

Using this for sponsorship pricing

If a brand offers a flat fee, convert it to CPM with your average views: fee ÷ average views × 1,000. Below 15 dollars CPM is cheap for the brand; above 30 is strong for a mid-sized channel. Use the YouTube Money Calculator to compare with what AdSense would pay for the same views.
