How Much Do Instagram Influencers Make per Post in 2026? (Rate Card by Followers)

Instagram does not pay creators for posts. Brands do. That makes “how much do influencers make” a pricing question, and pricing follows a few rules that brands and agencies use every day. Once you know them, you can price your own posts instead of accepting whatever the first DM offers.

This guide gives the 2026 rate ranges by follower tier, the formula behind them, and the extras that double a deal. The Instagram Money Calculator applies all of it to your numbers.

Instagram influencer rates by follower count (2026)

Typical sponsored feed post rates, US and Western audiences, average engagement:

TierFollowersPer feed postPer ReelPer story set (3 frames)
Nano1k – 10k$50 – $250$75 – $400$25 – $100
Micro10k – 100k$250 – $1,500$400 – $2,500$100 – $500
Mid-tier100k – 500k$1,500 – $6,000$2,500 – $10,000$500 – $2,000
Macro500k – 1M$6,000 – $12,000$10,000 – $20,000$2,000 – $4,000
Mega1M+$12,000 – $50,000+$20,000 – $100,000+$4,000 – $15,000+

Two things stand out. First, the ranges overlap heavily, because engagement and niche move the number as much as follower count. Second, nano and micro creators are where most brand budgets go in 2026: a brand can run ten micro creators for the price of one macro and get better engagement.

The formula brands use

The common starting point is $10 per 1,000 followers per feed post at a 3 percent engagement rate. Then:

Rate = (followers ÷ 1,000) × $10 × engagement factor × niche factor × audience factor
  • Engagement factor: your engagement rate ÷ 3%. A 6 percent account gets 2x; a 1.5 percent account gets 0.5x. Measure yours with the Engagement Rate Calculator.
  • Niche factor: finance and business 1.6, tech 1.4, beauty 1.3, fashion 1.2, fitness and travel 1.1, food and parenting 1.0, lifestyle 0.9, art and gaming 0.8, memes 0.6.
  • Audience factor: US and Canada 1.0, UK and Western Europe 0.85, Australia 0.9, Gulf 0.9, global mix 0.5, Latin America 0.3, South-East Asia 0.25, India and Africa 0.2.

Example: 25,000 followers, 4.5 percent engagement, beauty niche, UK audience. 25 × $10 × 1.5 × 1.3 × 0.85 = $414 per feed post, so a Reel at 1.5x is about $620 and a bundle (post + Reel + stories) lands around $1,100.

Reels, stories and bundles

  • Reels cost 1.5 to 2x a feed post: more production time and wider reach.
  • Stories are 25 to 50 percent of a post, usually sold as a set of three frames with a link sticker.
  • Bundles (post + Reel + 3 stories) are the most common 2026 deal and are priced below the sum of the parts, typically 1.8 to 3.2x a single post.
  • Carousels price like a post, sometimes 1.2x because they take longer.

The extras that double a deal

Content fee is only half the invoice. Add these as line items:

ExtraTypical uplift
Usage rights (brand reuses your content in ads for 3 months)+30% to +100%
Whitelisting / Spark Ads (brand runs ads from your handle)+50% to +100% per month
Exclusivity (no competitor deals for 30-90 days)+20% to +50%
Rush delivery (under 7 days)+25%
Link in bio for a week+$50 to $500
Giveaway management+$100 to $1,000

A micro creator quoting $500 for a Reel can reasonably invoice $1,200 once usage rights and exclusivity are added.

What nano creators actually earn

Nano creators (under 10k) often get gifted products plus $50 to $250. That is fine early on if the product is useful and the brand is relevant, but set a floor: never produce a Reel for product only. Two to four paid deals a month at $150 is $300 to $600, and affiliate links on the same posts can add as much again.

How many deals per month is realistic

Brands and audiences both tire of constant ads. A sustainable rhythm is 2 to 6 sponsored posts a month, under 25 percent of your content. The Money Calculator estimates monthly income on that basis.

Setting your rate card

  1. Calculate your base rate with the formula above (or the calculator).
  2. Write a one-page rate card: post, Reel, story set, bundle, plus the extras table.
  3. Quote 20 percent above your floor so there is room to negotiate.
  4. Ask the brand for their budget first; many have more than you expect.
  5. Raise rates every 10k followers or every quarter, whichever comes first. Project your growth with the Follower Growth Calculator.

Beyond sponsorships

Sponsorships are the most visible income but rarely the largest over a year. Affiliate commissions (Amazon, LTK, brand programs), digital products (presets, guides, templates), paid subscriptions and UGC work (content for brands without posting it) each add a separate stream. Many full-time creators make less than a third of their income from sponsored posts.

FAQ

How much does Instagram pay for 1,000 followers? Nothing directly. Brands pay roughly $10 per 1,000 followers per post as a starting point.

How much do micro influencers make? $250 to $1,500 per feed post, and $1,000 to $8,000 per month with a steady deal flow plus affiliates.

Can you make money with 1,000 followers? Yes: local businesses, gifted products plus small fees, and affiliate links. Engagement matters more than count at this stage.

Should I charge in my currency? Quote in the brand’s currency and keep the rate consistent with the formula; do not discount for being in a lower-cost country if your audience is Western.
